How can I pay for my course?
We have a number of different payment options, depending on your chosen course and your selected delivery mode.
Calculated to include all costs associated with your training and assessment, your course costs are paid for via a series of regular instalments.
Instalment plans require an initial deposit on your course, followed by recurring payments that take place either weekly or fortnightly until the course cost been paid.
Under the instalment plan payment option, we offer three main instalment plan options:
- Upfront payment
Deposit + the remainder of the course cost to be paid within 30 days.
- Instalment plan
Deposit + the remainder of the course cost to be paid within ten months.
- Full Fee Payment
Full-fee payment includes all costs associated with your training and assessment and can be paid in total via credit card. Full-fee payment is available for all courses offered by the Australian Institute of Personal Trainers.

How do I enrol?
To enrol in one of our courses, simply fill out the enquiry form at the bottom of our website and one of our Career Advisors will be in touch with you shortly to complete the enrolment process over the phone.
What are my course delivery options?
Face-to-face on-campus: Complete a select number of practical hours, face-to-face on-campus, in a real gym. All theory components are completed online, in your own time.
AIPT Mentor: Undertake a select number of practical hours, face-to-face with a Mentor (a fully qualified Personal Trainer) sourced by the Australian Institute of Personal Trainers. All theory components are completed online, in your own time.
Student Selected Mentor: Choose your own Mentor* (a fully qualified Personal Trainer) to guide you through a select number of practical hours delivered face-to-face at their own gym or fitness centre. All theory components are completed online, in your own time.
*Mentor must be approved by the Australian Institute of Personal Trainers.
Online: Delivered entirely online, meaning you can study when and where suits you through our online learning platform. Any practical elements required within your course are to be undertaken in a relevant working industry environment.
When can I start my course?
For courses where the theory component is delivered online, you can enrol and start studying whenever it suits you.
Depending on your chosen delivery option and your location, commencement dates for our face-to-face fitness and nutrition courses will vary. Find your nearest AIPT campus and the course intake dates on our locations page.

Graduate Placement Assistance#
When you graduate from the Complete Personal Trainer^ Program, you will be certified to the standards required by Goodlife, Genesis, Core24 and Club Lime, and will be given the opportunity to work as an independent contractor in one of these leading gym network partners within six months of graduation. Pathways to university
We also have articulation arrangements in place with a number of Australia’s leading universities, providing a seamless pathway into courses, following the completion of courses like Diploma of Fitness and Diploma of Business. We can offer students credit towards their entire first year of the university upon completion of our courses.
Will I find a job after I graduate from my course?
We support the entire education journey of our students and offer a high level of support and assistance throughout the job application process.
If you choose to study the Complete Personal Trainer^ Program at a selected Goodlife Health Club, Genesis Fitness Club, Core24 Health Club or Club Lime location, you will be applicable for a Graduate Placement Assistance#.
This means that, upon graduation, you will be certified to the standards required by Goodlife, Genesis, Core24 and Club Lime, and will be given the opportunity to work as a fitness professional in one of these leading gym network partners within six months of graduation.
How many hours a week will I need to spend on study?
Your weekly study load will depend on your chosen course and delivery mode. Our courses are designed to be completed at your own pace, in your own time meaning you can fast-track your studies and graduate sooner if you wish, or take your time so you can focus on work or family commitments.
To help you stay on track and complete your course within the desired timeframe, you will be provided with an individual study plan upon enrolment.
What accreditations does AIPT have?
The Australian Institute of Personal Trainers is accredited by Fitness Australia and a member of the Independent Tertiary Education Council Australia (ITECA).
What Campus locations can I study at?

What will I be able to do with my certificate or diploma?
A Certificate-level qualification with the Australian Institute of Personal Trainers will enable you to apply for entry-level positions in the fitness industry.
A Diploma-level qualification will enable you to refine your industry knowledge and/or progress into managerial or high-level positions within your chosen industry.
What is the difference between a certificate level qualification and a diploma level qualification?
Certificate level qualifications take between six months to two years to complete and provide a basic set of industry-specific vocational skills and knowledge.
Diploma level courses generally take one to three years to complete and prepare students for careers that require a range of industry-specific skills and in-depth knowledge.
What is the difference between a SIS30315 Certificate III in Fitness and a SIS40215 Certificate IV in Fitness?
SIS30315 Certificate III in Fitness
A SIS30315 Certificate III in Fitness provides a solid understanding of fitness and training fundamentals and is the minimum qualification required to work as a qualified Gym Instructor.

SIS40215 Certificate IV in Fitness
A SIS40215 Certificate IV in Fitness refines practices of client health and fitness assessment exercise programs, whilst extending your competencies in fitness planning, training legalities, motivational psychology and business planning. This is also the minimum requirement needed to work as a registered Personal Trainer.

How much will I earn as a PT?
As a Personal Trainer, you can set your own hours and the number of clients you wish to take on. This means you have the potential to increase your annual earnings beyond the average wage-earning anywhere from $35,715 up to $122,997.

What should I charge as a PT starting out?
As a Personal Trainer, you have the freedom to set your own hourly rate. Determining how much you should charge will depend on the kind of services you are offering to clients, and how much money you want to earn.
On average, Personal Trainers charge between $40 and $90 per 30-45 minute session. Consider the following points before setting your price point:

Do I need to be fit to study?
Personal Trainers are mentors, role models and motivators – so while being fit isn’t a prerequisite to study, you have to be able to keep up with your clients! Great Personal Trainers are passionate about improving people’s health and fitness, so naturally, you should be aware of your own, especially when you are the face of your own business.
If you’re passionate about health and fitness, you’re halfway there and gaining the skills and knowledge to mentor others could be all that’s needed for a successful career in fitness.
