Entry Procedure

Diploma Courses

Potential Students with the Australian Institute of Personal Trainers are supplied with a Course Handbook and are required to read this handbook prior to enrolment. This Course Handbook includes information about the chosen course as well as the terms and conditions of enrolment. Potential students must confirm that they have received and understood this Handbook.

Once it is confirmed that this document has been received and read, the enrolment process can begin.

The first step in this process is for the potential student to confirm that they meet any relevant entry requirements for the course (where required). This can be done by emailing certified copies of qualifications and/or statements of attainment as evidence.

Once this step is completed, the next step is for the potential student to select their payment option.

Students can elect to pay their course fees via Fee for Service (either upfront or on a payment plan) or via VET FEE-HELP (for Diploma level courses only).

1. Fee for Service

In order to enrol and pay via Fee for Service, a student must:

  • Pay the deposit on the day it is due, and
  • Set up the plan for an upfront payment or payment plan, and
  • Agree to pay for the course as per the payment plan

Once this option is selected the enrolment can be undertaken via a written enrolment form, a recorded verbal agreement or an online enrolment form.

On successful completion of this form or agreement, the potential student will become an enrolled student.

2. VET FEE-HELP

Please note: The VET FEE-HELP Program is no longer active and as such this information only applies to students who enrolled under this program in 2016 or earlier. No new enrolments into this program are available.

To be eligible to defer course fees via VET FEE-HELP, a student must:

  • meet the citizenship or residency requirements; and
  • have a FEE-HELP balance greater than zero and have not exceeded the FEE-HELP limit; and
  • provide a tax file number (or application) prior to the census date; and
  • have completed, signed and returned the ‘Request for VET FEE-HELP Assistance form’ and
  • show that they are academically suited to the course.

Once this option is selected, the potential student must supply copies of citizenship documents and a Senior Secondary Certificate of Education via email. The Senior Secondary Certificate of Education will have been awarded by an agency or authority of a State or Territory for the completion of Year 12.

If a potential student cannot supply a copy of a Senior Secondary Certificate they will be provided access to the Core Skills Profile for Adults test managed by the Australian Council for Educational Research. To be deemed academically suited to the Diploma level course they must gain a minimum Level three (3) result in both reading and numeracy. The results of the test will be retained by AIPT for five (5) years, and reported as soon as practicable so the potential student can continue with their enrolment.

Once the required documents have been received and/or the test successfully completed, enrolment can be undertaken via a written enrolment form, a recorded verbal agreement or an online enrolment form.

On successful completion of this form or agreement, the potential student will become an enrolled student.

The student will then be provided with a two (2) business day cooling off period to ensure they have fully considered the implications of taking out a VET FEE-HELP loan. Once this cooling off period has passed, they will be emailed a link to an Electronic Commonwealth Assistance Form for completion. AIPT will not accept the application until the two (2) business day cooling off period has expired, and the student must complete the Form within 15 days from the date of enrolment in order for the VET FEE-HELP loan to be processed. If this does not occur, this does not remove the student’s liability for the tuition fees for the relevant unit of study and the student will need to make alternate payment arrangements with AIPT.
