Fitness Transition

This communication is a reminder about the change of the SIS30315 Certificate III in Fitness and the SIS40215 Certificate IV in Fitness as endorsed by the Australian Government.

Most of our students have received communication about this transition in which they have had the opportunity to opt for an early transition if they were eligible to. 

This reminder is issued via email on 15th March 2023 for students who still have active enrolment in the superseding qualification SIS30315 or SIS40215.

What happens next and what options do you have?

If your course expires before the 10th of May 2023:

• Your final assessment submission deadline is 5 pm (AEST), the 10th of April 2023. Our Education Team is committed to supporting you where needed and will be working around the clock to complete the marking for all submissions received before this deadline. 

• If all assessments are submitted by the 10th of April and all are marked competent, we will ensure you graduate by the teach-out deadline, i.e. the 10th of May 2023.

• Failing to submit all assessment pieces (including re-submissions) by the submission deadline of the 10th of April 2023 will mean that your enrolment will be finalized, and you will receive a Statement of Attainment for any units of competency that you have been deemed competent and eligible for.

If your course expires after the 10th of May 2023:

• If you can submit all assessment pieces by 5 pm (AEST), on the 10th of April 2023, and you are deemed competent in all units of competency within your qualification, you will receive your qualification for your currently enrolled version.

You can opt to transition to the new course by sending a transition request to transition.support@aipt.edu.au at any time you wish but before the 10th of April 2023.

• If we don’t receive your transition request and you have not submitted all assessment pieces by the 10th of April 2023, your enrolment will be transitioned to the updated current version qualification.

• Enrolments transitioned into the new qualification will receive a complementary 6-month extension. 

• You will receive a ‘Confirmation of Transition Notice’ email after the transition has occurred.

The new version of the qualification has significant changes with limited Credit Transfer opportunities from the previous version of the qualification.

For the SIS40315 Certificate IV in Fitness, the entry requirements in the new course have changed as well. You may have to undertake additional studies to meet the entry requirements in the new course.

If you are completing a Traineeship with AIPT, please reach out to the Traineeship Team on 07 3292 4134 or email trainees@aipt.edu.au.

It is a Traineeship requirement that the Training Contract is amended to transition the course and extend the contract with the relative State Authority. Further documentation such as the Training Plan, Employer Resource Assessment and the Equipment Resource Checklist must be updated with yourself and your employer to the new qualification in addition to a variation request to your Australian Apprenticeship Support Network and/or State Authority.

Further information for school-based students:

If you are a SIS30315 school-based student and commenced the course while you were in Year 11 in 2022:

• You have an extended option to complete your course by the 30th of September 2023.

• You can opt to transition to the new course by sending a transition request to transition.support@aipt.edu.au. 

• School students in a school program should confirm with their School VET Coordinator on any extension and transitions prior to communication with AIPT.
