Ella Fitzpatrick Success Story

Student Success Story

Tell us a Bit About Yourself.

Hi, my name is Ella, and I am a 17-year-old girl who has a real passion for anything health and fitness related.

I grew up around the gym environment as my family owned three gyms, so I always felt like being a fitness trainer was something I wanted to do. I love studying at school, and dancing is one of my favourite things to do outside of the gym environment. I also love spending quality time with my friends and family.

What Made you Decide to Pursue a Career in Fitness?

I have always had a passion for helping people and have always been an active kid. I watched my dad train people since I was born, and I always knew that it was in my blood to do the same thing. I would always encourage my friends to do workouts with me on the weekends, and then I really wanted to become a qualified trainer so I could train many more people. I wanted to have this as my job going through VCE as it allowed me to have an interesting and rewarding job.

What Course did you Study?

I studied Certificate III and IV in Fitness.

Why did you Choose to Study with AIPT?

I chose to study with AIPT as they were one of the only organisations where I could complete my course at the age of 16. I remember talking to and researching organisations that would allow me to do my Certificate III and IV for ages until I came across AIPT. They were so welcoming I started the course a week later. This also allowed me to do it online, which allowed me to do it at any time of the week as I was very busy with high school and many other commitments.

What are Your Plans for the Future?

After completing my studies, I started working at a local gym as a personal trainer and a group fitness instructor. I have recently launched my own 28-day fitness challenge to help motivate teenagers in high school to get up and get moving whilst studying hard at school. I plan to continue to inspire as many people as I can to live a healthy, fit and fulfilling life as they possibly can. I want to continue to gain more knowledge over many more years to come, which will enable me to be the best trainer and teacher I can be. I also plan to go to university to become a doctor once I have finished my VCE, hopefully.

What Would you say to People who are Considering Taking the Leap Into a Career in Fitness?

Just do it! It is one of the best jobs where you can get to know many different kinds of people, help inspire them to better themselves and use your knowledge to educate others about their training. The knowledge you will gain with Certificate III and IV in Fitness you will be able to use for your whole life. STOP THINKING ABOUT IT AND MAKE A START; you definitely won't regret it.
