Hi, my name is Giulia, and I am super excited to say that I recently graduated with my Certificate IV in Fitness at the AIPT.
I have a strong passion for all sports, particularly soccer and footy (AFL). I have been playing soccer for over 10 years now and absolutely love it. I also have a strong passion for footy (AFL) and have been going to matches since I was 6 months old. I am a diehard Carlton supporter. When I’m not watching or playing sports, I love exercising and staying fit as well as going out to nice restaurants with family and friends. I’m also busy with my university degree, where I am currently studying to become a PE and Health teacher, and it is my final semester!
I have always enjoyed keeping fit and staying active at a young age. However, through a recent experience where my passion grew, I decided to enrol at the AIPT to become a personal trainer. At the end of 2018, I was at soccer training, where unfortunately something unexpected happened to me. I completely tore my ACL ligament in my right knee. Devastated was an understatement.
During this time, I experienced a roller coaster of emotions and plenty of moments of self-doubt, sadness, and fear. Due to this injury, I couldn’t play soccer for over a year and lost all the muscle in my right leg, which required two major surgeries. However, this experience alone has provided me with valuable life lessons and has driven my passion for pursuing a career in fitness. From this, I now understand the importance of listening to your body, exercising regularly to keep your muscles and bones strong and healthy, and the importance of staying physically and mentally strong. I hope to utilise these lessons with my future clients to help them reach their personal health and fitness goals.
The course I studied was Certificate III and IV in Fitness. The gym I attended for placement was CarloV Fitness (VIC).
When I decided I wanted to pursue a career in fitness, I rang a few places. In the end, I selected the AIPT, as I was impressed with what they had to offer, particularly their flexibility. Initially, I was quite stressed about how I was going to manage both my university degree and my Certificate III and IV in Fitness. However, when I had a chat with them over the phone, they ensured I will be provided with lots of support and understanding from their team members, and I have to say I have not been disappointed. The course content was also very interesting, and the support staff were fantastic in answering any of my questions. I would defiantly recommend the AIPT to anyone looking to get qualified in the fitness industry.
My future ambition is to open my own small business, where I will provide one-on-one and group sessions to individuals looking to maintain or improve their overall health and fitness.
I would say to defiantly jump on board for those considering leaping into a career in fitness. It is such a fun and rewarding career with endless opportunities. If you want to create a positive change in the lives of others, then this is absolutely the career for you.
