Hi, my name is Teoh; I’m 42 years old. I entered the fitness industry 17 years ago in my home country, where I was a group fitness instructor.
Moving to Australia in 2019 was a huge step, as I had to start everything and build a new life just before COVID restrictions/lockdowns.
I joined the fitness industry in 2005 mainly because I wanted to help people move and improve their lifestyles. I love the positive energy when people are working out together and seeing them smile after a class; it is awesome to be part of their healthier journeys and know I made a big contribution.
I studied the Complete Personal Trainer^Program, and I did my face-to-face assessments at Fitness First Robina (QLD).
I chose to study with AIPT because I could complete the course at my own pace, especially during the lockdown. I spoke to Alex, who helped me enrol. The support team was great and ready to assist me every time I had questions so that I could graduate last February.
Now that I have completed my personal training course, I can combine my previous fitness knowledge and experience and build my own business. The flexibility of being your own boss, choosing your hours and the perfect location is just fantastic.
My experience here in Australia has been great - the fitness industry is well established, and there is plenty of support. Choosing the right institute to complete my studies was incredible. AIPT supported me from the beginning, from choosing the right mentor to assist me with any questions I had. This support is very important to help you build confidence and be a better trainer for your clients. If you don’t see yourself in a 9-5 job and have a passion for helping people, then a career in the fitness industry is the right choice. Good luck!
