Hi, I'm Charlotte, the PT Manager at Goodlife Health Clubs Knox City with six years of experience in the health and fitness industry.
I enjoy hiking and training in the gym, I have completed and won multiple fitness modelling competitions, but most of all I love taking my two young children outside and being active and playing with them.
I started my personal training journey in 2017 after a love of fitness encouraged me to make a dramatic career change from my role as a police officer.
I studied with AIPT and commenced work at Goodlife as soon as I completed my Certificate IV in Fitness. From there my business grew and grew until I was ready to make a change and become the Personal Training Manager at Goodlife Knox City.
Knox City is a beautiful, lively health club with a team of diverse trainers with varied experience from 1-20+ years. Our team is all friendly and approachable, and any student would benefit from learning, training and growing a business here.
Seeing the positive changes a trainer can make to someone's life. It's not just about training hard and sweating it out in a session. It's about developing a client's love for health and fitness, watching it become part of their daily routine and becoming that person your client looks up to and looks forward to seeing every time they set foot in the gym.
It's about spreading knowledge and working towards a healthier community one client at a time.
Having been a Personal Trainer to now managing and mentoring a team of PTs, I help students complete their course work by providing a workplace environment with practical opportunities to enhance learning, as well as assisting with theoretical knowledge as required.
As a mentor, I believe the student gets the most out of a course when they are given realistic exposure to what it would be like training clients as well as running their own business. It is important for a student to immerse themselves in the workplace so they feel a sense of belonging in the team.
I believe this is important as there is every possibility my students will be a member of the Knox City Personal Training Team once they complete their course. I have a strong desire to teach students who study with AIPT as I found that the training mode and content helped me to hit the ground running when I first started working as a Personal Trainer.
I also love that there are further learning opportunities available through AIPT to expand one's knowledge beyond Certificate IV Fitness.
Don't just skim through the content to get the coursework completed; embrace the theory and remember it; you will use it. If you have a passion for fitness, gather as much knowledge as possible, and your business and clients will thank you later.
